We now have a 24-hour weather observation array at the airport that can be accessed by the general public online at: Airport Weather Advisor™ AWOS Live | KS31, or by calling (360) 376-2071. The dial-in option reports weather using approved aviation lingo, so we recommend non-pilots use the online option. Note that there are multiple views offered. The data will also feed the national weather system, and should improve accuracy of weather reporting and forecasting for our island. Data available includes:
•Barometric pressure, altimeter setting and density altitude
•Wind speed and wind gusts, wind direction and variable wind direction (in degrees of the compass)
•Sky condition, cloud ceiling height and liquid precipitation accumulation
•Temperature and dew point
•Visibility and variable visibility
•Precipitation type (e.g. rain, snow, drizzle) identification
